![]() ![]() ![]() At that point I tried to start it and got no starter action. After the tuner failed to take the car back to stock, I tried to flash in the mod tune and it balked saying it had "detected a download failure, return the car to stock" and that's as far as it would go. Here's the thing I'm worried about still. I have updated the tuner and reloaded the mod tune from my computer where I saved that as well so I'm ready and anxiously waiting. The tech at the dealer told me he could get the stock tune and reflash the car if it comes to it. Jose at SCT told me he would call me early am when he was ready to send me the recovery stock tune in a format the tuner would accept. Well it's 0930 eastern time, 0830 my time. Then I should be able to reload my custom tune which was flawless and get blindingly drunk to celebrate. Then I should get the email recovery tune and wait for the call from Jose at SCT to tell me how to force it into the car. I am promised to go to a kickboxing class with my wife in the am. They will ask for your VIN, your car computer 4 digit code, and your email.Ģ As I was told, tech will email me a recovery stock code in the morning in some format that the tuner will be able to force it into the car.ģ Be sure to save on your computer any email tunes sent to you as they might get corrupted by your tuner.Ĥ Go to the SCT site and perform the updates on your tuner which I did this afternoon after eating a roll of tums.ĥ) einstall your email tune onto the tuner so as to assure you have an uncorrupted version of your email tune. If it all blows up in the future like mine did,ġCall SCT tech, wait forever on hold, then tell them what happened. So here is what I have done so far and here are the tips I hope when this thread is done that will save you my heartburn.ġ) Right now, plug your SCT tuner in and save your stock file to your computer! Do not rename it as it will have a very long name with numbers that do not make any sense.Ģ) Follow the directions to update the firmware on your tuner! Now I have a car that will not even start. The SCT tuner failed to download the stock tune and update it and then would not communicate with the car at all. So I tried to restore the stock tune then reflash the tune specific for the stock catted pipe and it all blew up. The car which had run flawlessly on that tune now was detonating. I went from a tune specific for including an H pipe back to the tune I had previously run that was specific for all my mods but without the H pipe when I decided to put the stock catted pipe back on. For those of you using the SCT tuners here is my latest saga and a warning. ![]()
